Malone (who is from the island of Nevis), is a novel about a fourteen-year-old boy named Akuzmo who embarks on a quest with three golden coins to find help and buy goods for Inlandia, his famine-stricken village. Akuzmo has decisions to make. Will he save himself by accepting the promises of strangers and abandoning his family and his village? Or will he find another way to save his people?

I purchased this book for my eight year-old niece and my nine year-old nephew. They loved it! I was pleasantly surprised to see that didn’t spend much time watching TV, or playing games on their mobile phones. My niece wanted to know what happened in the end to Akuzmo’s family and his people. And my nephew wanted to know what choices Akuzmo made in the end. Excellent read for 8 to 13 year olds!

I loved this book! It was such a good read!
Excellent read! Quite refreshing in a time when for many, dishonesty, lying, and disrespect of community members, especially the elderly seem to be commonplace.
Excellent Read! Will there be a sequel?
