<p><span style="font-size: 18px;" data-preserver-spaces="true"><strong>Chile</strong>&#8212;</span><span style="font-size: 18px;" data-preserver-spaces="true">Chile&#8217;s President, Sebastián Piñera, declared that the country will remember Chileans who died from COVID-19 on August 9th to 10th. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18px;" data-preserver-spaces="true">While announcing the days of mourning, Mr. Sebastián Piñera said that the government wanted to pay &#8220;tribute to all those people who lost their lives as a result of the pandemic.&#8221; </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18px;" data-preserver-spaces="true">The President also said that &#8220;we have decreed a National Mourning on Monday and Tuesday so that all Chileans can remember them and give them meaning because their sacrifice was not in vain.&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18px;" data-preserver-spaces="true">During the announcement, 460 bulbs were lit in memory of the deceased. Also, a moment of silence was observed at the sound of a Carabineros trumpet. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18px;" data-preserver-spaces="true">On Sunday, Chile&#8217;s Health Ministry announced that 65 people died that day from Covid-19. To date, 36,016 people have passed from Covid-19 in Chile.</span></p>
