The Bahamas welcomes Frontier Airlines

The Bahamas welcomed Frontier Airlines’ inaugural flight this month. Frontier Airlines is the first low-cost air carrier to enter the Caribbean market with multiple travel days per week.

The airline will operate direct flights from Miami International Airport to Nassau four times a week, starting July 2021.

The Bahamas Minister of Tourism & Aviation said that the country is “excited that Frontier Airlines has decided to partner with The Bahamas, particularly at this critical juncture, as we engage on the path of tourism recovery and economic restoration following a devastating hurricane and most recently, the COVID-19 pandemic. I take this opportunity to extend a warm Bahamian welcome to you and to express our sincere appreciation for your partnership.”

Trinidad and Tobogo Pleads with Landlords to not Evict tenants

Secretary in the Division of Health, Wellness, and Family Development, Tracy Davidson-Celestine is asking landlords in Tobago to delay evicting tenants who have applied for rental assistance with the Tobago House of Assembly.

The Secretary said that the payments are in process and are heavily dependent on information supplied by the landlords themselves. Secretary Davidson-Celestine said that “these are tough times for persons who are renting who have lost jobs and businesses and people are struggling to keep a roof over their heads.

We continue to provide support through the rental assistance program. We want to appeal to the landlords if your tenant has applied to the Division for rental assistance; we encourage you to hold your hand a bit to avoid eviction.”
